Vat Supported Steels

The universal beams supporting this Vat were clearly passed their sell by date.

On earlier attempts to clean up and paint the beams, the tools that I was using literally broke straight through the vertical section of the beam. There was no hiding on this one, they had to be replaced.

Measurement s were taken and new beams were fabricated. The beams needed to include mounting points for 2 geared motors that sit on the back side.

This was rather critical as the positions here needed to match up with the existing points on the vat when it was reassembled.

The job completed and looking good.

Critical measurements were taken prior to starting the work. Upon completion these measurements were checked to ensure all rolls within the vat were returned to their exact positions.
